A MAN has been released under investigation by police after he was arrested in connection with a stabbing in Orford.

The 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding on Grasmere Avenue at around 7am on Saturday, March 3.

This followed on incident on Tyne Close, in which a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the face having been attacked with a knife and a hammer.

He was treated for injuries that were not believed to be life threatening at Warrington Hospital, and was later discharged.

The suspect has since been released under investigation.
