ALMOST 300 firms will attend the launch of an ambitious business initiative which aims to help companies connect and grow.

The launch of The Business Exchange by Warrington & Co, one of the council's key partners, will take place between 4pm and 7pm in the Martin Dawes Legends Lounge at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on Wednesday.

The free event sold out in five days, with more than 280 businesses registered to attend.

The project hopes to be the 'go to' networking organisation for Warrington businesses to connect, collaborate and grow.

Steve Park, managing director of Warrington & Co, said: "This promises to be an exciting event and the launch of a very exciting initiative.

"It is great that the response from the business community has already been so enthusiastic.

"At the event we'll be telling guests about the benefits that The Business Exchange will provide and I can announce that our speaker panel will include Dave Pickering of Eddie Stobart, Mike Lomax of Total Steel, Gary Jenkins of No Brainer and Annie Brown of the Park Royal, with more names to be announced over the coming days.

"We've a growing waiting list for places should we get cancellations, so please still register."
