RESIDENTS are invited to a Bewsey mosque to view the holy site and ask questions about Islam as part of a national campaign.

The Visit My Mosque Day event takes place in the sacred building, on Lockton Lane, next Sunday, February 18.

Mayor Cllr Les Morgan will be arriving at around 1pm and there will be a special talk on Islam, along with a question and answer session.

Light refreshments will also be served.

Warrington Islamic Association vice chairman Mo Hussain said: "Visit My Mosque Day is a great opportunity to get to know the people in your area you may not have otherwise met.

"It is also a chance to ask those questions that have been on the back of your mind about Islam in a friendly and relaxed environment with a cup of tea and a slice of cake."

The free event runs from 1pm to 4pm.
