CHESHIRE Dogs’ Home is urgently seeking special foster carers for two adorable blind puppies.

Brother and sister, Amon and Xena, are fourteen weeks old and were born at the Dogs’ Home along with their sister Beryl, who has already been re-homed.

The two pups have some special medical considerations, however, hence the search for special foster carers.

Staff at the Dogs’ Home noticed that Amon and Xena were bumping into walls in the kennels, and after careful examination, they were referred to a canine eye specialist for further tests.

It was then found that both pups are blind.

The puppies need to be fostered within the local area, as they’ll be having regular medical check-ups at Cheshire Dogs’ Home and, when they’re old enough, they’ll undergo operations to have their eyes removed for their own comfort.

The pups don’t have to be re-homed together and can be fostered to a home with older children and possibly with another dog.

Anna Stansfield, Home Manager at Cheshire Dogs’ Home, said: “Amon and Xena are lovely dogs who have been dealt a raw deal in terms of their sight but deserve every chance of a happy life.

“We’re hopeful that people who are seriously able to take them on, either separately or together, will come forward and contact us.

“We know that there are some incredible dog lovers out there and we’re appealing for some very special foster carers to take on Amon and Xena and give them the love and stability they need going forwards.”

Anyone interested in fostering Amon or Xena should call Cheshire Dogs’ Home on 0844 504 1212.
