HERO college students have been praised for coming to the aid of a distressed man on a motorway bridge.
The four young men, thought to be students at a nearby college, comforted the man at junction nine of the M62 at Winwick on Friday lunchtime.
Described as ‘pillars of the community’, the quartet stayed with the male and ‘kept him calm’ until police arrived on the scene.
A tweet from the NW Motorway Police account said: “Four young men have just identified a male in distress on the over bridge at junction nine of the M62.
“They stayed with the male and kept him calm until police arrived to take over.
“The unsung heroes were not identified, but are potentially from a local college.
“Pillars of the community.”
