MY long term partner took up residence in Heathercroft Nursing Home in June 2015 due to his incapacity and my inability to give him the care he needed – he suffered with Parkinson’s disease and early dementia.

I always ensured that his care home fees were paid in full and since admission his health has slowly deteriorated.

On November 27 he was admitted to Warrington Hospital after consultation with a doctor because he was eating very little and spending more and more time asleep in bed. The home was becoming concerned for his welfare.

I was informed by telephone on December 14 by the manageress of the home that he could not go back to the home because no bed was available on the nursing care side and that his normal bedroom had now been let to someone else.

To my knowledge, no assessment as to his needs has been carried out.

Surely I should or could have been invited to a meeting with the management to discuss the options available to me.

He remains in hospital.

It does not appear to me that he has ever been evicted from the home without any notice or legal authority. Surely that cannot be right?

To the present time I’ve had no contact from the home regarding his clothing, cash, TV or other possessions that were in his room.

Shabby treatment comes to mind.
