A DOG has gone missing after yobs hurled fireworks at her in a park.
Nora, a two-year-old Collie cross, bolted into the darkness after a rocket landed near to her on Wednesday, December 27.
Owner Michelle Deluce, a volunteer at Phoenix Dog Rescue on Widnes Road in Cuerdley, was walking Nora with two other dogs in Sutton Park in St Helens at 5pm when the firework was thrown.
A rescue dog originally from Romania, Nora has been sighted near to the M62 between junction eight for Burtonwood and junction seven for Rainhill.
Michelle, 27, said: "The youths were about 20 feet away and sent a firework shooting across the park – it landed nearby and Nora was terrified.
“She was spooked and just bolted – she ran off in the direction of St Helens Junction Station.
“There have been a couple of sightings, the last one being between junctions seven and eight of the M62.
"We are desperate to get her back, but I would ask if people see her to not go after her because she will be scared.
“If they let me know where she is I think she'll come to me – I'm heartbroken and just want her back."
Anyone who sees Nora is asked to contact Michelle on 07966795745.
