SCAFFOLDING has been erected around the Cabinet Works site in the centre of Warrington before demolition begins.
Garnett's Cabinet Works is one of the town's most iconic buildings but an order was given last year for it to be demolished.
It had fallen into disrepair after being left abandoned for more than 60 years.
Warrington Excavation and Contracting Ltd has begun work with scaffolding now having gone up around the tower.
It was built on Barbauld Street in the town centre in 1906.
