A FEW weeks ago in Yester Years we featured this picture of a class of students at Beamont Junior School back in the 1960s.

Plenty of you have been in touch over the past couple of weeks to help us to name most of the former classmates.

Thanks in particular go to Brian Moulding, Christine Singleton and Ray Lomax for their contributions.

A lot of you remembered teacher Mr Adkin who taught the class for around two years. He was also recalled for travelling to school on his push bike.

The youngsters pictured are from class 3a in 1960.

Remarkably there were 42 children in the class.

Thanks to Ray in particular, we have named all of the pupils apart from one. So please get in touch if you know that person.

They are: Back row, from right to left, teacher Mr Adkin, Brian Moulding, Philip Ellson, Trevor Bate, still to named, Kathleen Burland, Barbara Cartwright, Roy Gillespie, Robert Gibson, Paul Rathbone.

Second row, from left to right, Linda Williams, Georgina Birchall, Dorothy Moorcroft, Gwyneth Hammond, Jean Stringer, Christine Colter, Linda Jenkins, Margaret Grounds.
