BEN Vickers knows where the goal is but on Saturday his heroics at the other end ensured a win for Warrington Hockey Club’s men.

He and Adam Garrod maintained their goal-scoring streaks put Warrington 2-0 ahead but Golborne nicked a goal back.

Vice captain Vickers to clear a short corner off the line in the last minute.

The seconds dominated against their Golborne Golborne counterparts to win 4-0.

Richard Hannibal, Gavin Brown and Nick Bottomley put them 3-0 up by half time.

Chris Lyon, Billy Gilbert and Bottomley were too strong in midfield and youngster Jake Galvin wrapped up the scoring with his first ever goal courtesy of a calm finish.

Molly Rudd netted twice as Warrington women’s seconds edged out Neston’s thirds 2-1 at Priestley College.

Rudd broke the stalemate and despite the best efforts of player-of-the-match Lauren Hayes in midfield it was 1-1 until Rudd popped up with the winner.

The women’s first team put up a valiant display in a 3-0 loss high-flying Alderley Edge’s seconds.

Alderley went ahead early on before Warrington clicked into gear with some great passing moves involving Meg Sutch and Vicky Stout.

Steph Rawlins and Carrie Wright were outstanding in defence, while Marian Taig and Sally Fraser excelled in midfield but Alderley scored twice more in the second half.
