FANCY spending the evening drinking bubbly with 90s Britpop icons Cast?

Weekend has teamed up with the organisers of Warrington Music Festival to give away five pairs of VIP tickets to the band’s co-headline gig with Space on Sunday, May 28, on an open air stage at the Old Fish Market.

Each winner will get two tickets and a meet and greet with Cast at a drinks reception at Prezzo before the show starts at 6pm. Around 3,000 tickets for Cast and Space were released for free by Warrington Music Festival’s partners Golden Square but they were snapped up in under four hours.

Ian Cox, centre director for Golden Square, said: “Tickets for Sunday’s event headlined by Space and Cast were allocated to music lovers in less than a day therefore these tickets are highly sought after.

“The winners will not only get access to the event they will also get to enjoy a pre-event reception in Prezzo and then a chance to meet headliners Cast.”

Formed in the early 90s, Cast, who performed at V Festival at Victoria Park in 1996, have released five studio albums.

Their debut album All Change became the biggest-selling debut of all time for Polydor Records, and their second album Mother Nature Calls also went platinum.

More than a decade after disbanding in 2001, the original line-up of frontman John Power, lead guitarist Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson, bassist Pete Wilkinson and drummer Keith O’Neill reunited for the acclaimed Troubled Times in 2012.

Pete left the band in 2014 and was replaced by Jay Lewis who used to be in The La’s. They have also just released a sixth album, Kicking Up The Dust.
