A CAFÉ for people suffering with memory problems is set to launch next month.

Sunrise of Mobberley will work with the Alzheimer’s Society for a free monthly drop-in service, where memory-focussed activities and gatherings will take place.

Some sessions will have a guest speaker, while Sunrise of Mobberley’s head of dementia care will be on hand to offer advice at each meeting, alongside a representative from the Alzheimer’s Society.

Lisa Burrows, general manager at Sunrise of Mobberley, said: “The Sunrise of Mobberley team is passionate about the work that they do for people who live with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and we are thrilled to be able to reach out to the local area in this way.

“The ongoing Memory Café will provide an opportunity for participants and their carers to meet regularly with other people who might be living with memory loss.

“The service presents a chance to exchange experiences and to give and receive emotional support, in a relaxed environment.

“The café is completely free and open to all – do come and pay us a visit for fun, engaging and entertaining sessions. Plus, it is a great way to meet new people.”

The café is open on the second Thursday of every month from 10am to noon.

Anyone with concerns about their own memory or the memory of a relative or friend is welcome to attend.
