THERE may have been no 10 from Len but there were full marks across the judges' table for the winner of this year's Strictly St Rocco's.

Robert Foden and his dancer partner Natalie Goodier clinched the coveted glitterball trophy with their energetic jive, as hundreds of guests descended on Mere Golf Resort on Sunday evening.

It is the fourth year that St Rocco's Hospice in Bewsey has organised the glittering event, with a total of £40,000 raised on the night as nine amateur dancers took on a variety of ballroom and latin routines with help from the talented team at Cadmans Dance Centre in Sale.

Fundraising manager Lauren Tilston said: “The atmosphere at this year’s Strictly St Rocco’s was incredible and all the dance couples put on amazing performances.

"Once again everyone also dug deep to support patient care at St Rocco’s and we are delighted that such a fantastic amount of money has been raised.

"We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved in this year’s event.”

The judging panel - comprising Warrington Mayor Cllr Faisal Rashid along with last year's Strictly St Rocco's winner and Warrington Guardian editor Hayley Smith, head judge Sharon Walker, who co-runs Cadmans with her husband Wayne Newhouse, and dance experts Ralph Casson and Jude Goodier - awarded 10s across the board to Rob as well as recruitment consultant and hospice trustee Zac Clements, who took on a quickstep with partner Victoria Bennett.

But after the audience vote was added it was commercial property developer Rob, director of Foden Estates which sponsored the event, who raised the roof and was crowned king of the dancefloor.

The evening finished with a group merengue and disco, with plans already in progress for next year's competition.
