A GIG in memory of a teenager who was ‘loved by everybody’ will take place at the end of the month.

For One Mike Only will celebrate the life of Michael Carter one year on from his death with eight artists and a DJ set from Clint Boon from Inspiral Carpets.

The 19-year-old was found dead at his grandparent’s home in Penketh on May 2 2015, and more than 300 people attended the former Cardinal Newman High School and Priestley College student’s funeral.

His mum Sam Heathcote said: “He was loved by everybody – he genuinely helped and touched so many people’s lives.

“I’m biased because I’m his mum, but he was the most caring person in the world.

“He was always there for people – he was intelligent, articulate, very caring, kind and sympathetic.”

Featuring alongside Clint Boon will be Oasis tribute band Toast, who will play songs by Mike’s favourite band Muse, Psyblings, the God Complex, Kye Jones, Jonny Foreigner, the Remedy, Trinity and Sonya Hurst.

The night will also feature a tribute to Viola Beach, who were friends with Mike and were due to play at the tribute gig.

Money raised by the gig on Friday April 29 will be donated to the Warrington branch of the National Autistic Society.

Tickets are priced at £10 and are available at skdl.it/1VxBzcq or by calling 07895911356 – doors open at 7pm with the first act going on stage at 7.15pm.
