A MAN suspected of carrying out a burglary spree at Evans House and Tesco has been charged.
Christopher McNabb, of Valiant Close, Padgate, appeared in court on April 1 after he was arrested on suspicion of committing two burglaries on Saturday, March 26.
The 32-year-old has been remanded in custody and is expected to next appear at Halton Magistrates' Court on April 8.
An investigation was launched after police were alerted to a break-in at Exclusive Fitness for Women in Evans House.
CCTV footage later uncovered that a man had broken into the property at around 9pm by smashing one of the windows using a breezeblock.
After a quick search of the property, the man fled from the building with items including a laptop and a CCTV monitor packed into a pink Slazenger bag around half an hour later.
The police were called and the suspect was arrested after he was identified following a CCTV appeal.
Enquiries later revealed that a burglary at Tesco on Winwick Road could be linked to the break-in at Exclusive Fitness for Women.
