TONY Blair’s former spin doctor headed to Warrington Wolves training ground this week to give them the 'best team talk they have ever heard (ish)'.

Alastair Campbell posted a video of his chat with Wolves boss Tony Smith on Kicca where they discussed pre-season and the broadcaster's 'team talk'.

Tony Smith added: "The boys loved it and I couldn't believe how many were interested in politics.

"We like to educate our young players and give them varying views on life so it was a great insight and very entertaining."

Alastair Campbell later tweeted: "Enjoyed my day with Warrington @wolvesrl Good bunch. Enjoyed political grilling by @Jdc1192 (Jordan Cox) - think he is more Farage than Corbyn!!"

Following a thank you from the club, he added: "Pleasure was mine. And glad to know that I am size S when it comes to pro RL shirt!"

Karl Fitzpatrick, head of rugby operations, said: "It was great to welcome Alastair and his son Rory for the day.

"Alastair gave an insight into a life in politics as well as discussing some of his findings from his new book, Winners.

"We often have guest speakers and like to expose our players to different personalities from different industries.

"The players found Alastair fascinating and we even had a few 'debates' between the players and Alastair."
