ANYONE currently sitting through the seemingly endless first season of that Ugly Betty nonsense should stop.
If you really want an Ugly Duckling-style take on the greed and nastiness within the fashion industry, buy The Devil Wears Prada instead. It's every bit as annoying as the Channel 4 show, but gets the job done in an hour-and-a-half.
Anne Hathaway tries her best to unsuccessfully look unattractive as she plays the naive editor's assistant on a fashion magazine. Initially out of her depth, she soon blossoms only to alienate her boyfriend as she devotes all her time to fulfilling the unreasonable demands of stone-faced boss Meryl Streep (who steals the show).
