LANDLORD Chris Barral is used to pulling pints at The Orford Hotel.

But serving beers for the likes of Max Beesley and Jason Manford was a certainly day like no other.

The Gorsey Lane pub was used as a filming location for BAFTA and Emmy award-winner Danny Brocklehurst's Ordinary Lies.

And Chris could potentially appear in the comedy drama as he was behind the bar when the scenes were shot.

Ordinary Lies is about how a little white lie can spiral out of control and features a motley crew of colleagues who work together in a Warrington car showroom.

Chris, aged 45, said: "I’ve never been a part of anything like that before and it’s an interesting process.

"The camera guys were using the pool table area, the sound people set up camp in the snug, all the extras were hanging around in one of the front rooms and the back room was used for costumes.

"I even got to find out how they make a ‘TV pint’. It was good to be a part of it.

"One of the chaps that came here, Shazad Latif, was from one my favourite programmes, Spooks. He was fantastic."

But Chris's wife Tracy was starstruck when she met Mad Dogs actor Max Beesley

"She was chuffed to bits to meet Max," added Chris, who shares a birthday with his nine-year-old son Asher.

"I got some real pump clips for the scene and the one that Max noticed was Coach House Brewery’s Pete Postlethwaite one.

"You could tell he was one of Pete’s fans but he didn’t know he was from Warrington. He was really impressed. He came across as a genuinely nice man."

The stars of Ordinary Lies, which also includes Michelle Keegan and Mackenzie Crook, have been spotted regularly in Warrington.

Other filming locations include John Stuart Warrington Car Superstore in Orford Lane, Warrington Collegiate and Church of the Ascension in Woolston.
