POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was left with serious injuries following a crash last week.
The collision happened on the A49 Warrington Road at Acton Bridge, near the junction with Acton Lane, at about 12.30am on Wednesday, January 3.
The 22-year-old female driver was driving a blue Vauxhall Tigra at the time of the crash but investigations are yet to uncover how the collision occurred.
Now Cheshire Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident take place. A spokesman said: "There was a serious injury road traffic collision. It was a single vehicle collision in which the woman driver sustained serious chest injuries.
"The driver involved in this incident initially went to Warrington Hospital and was transferred to Aintree where her condition is now described as comfortable.
"She is a 22-year-old woman from the Northwich area and there seems to be a suggestion as the car was going round an S' bend it swerved to avoid another vehicle and this may have been what caused the collision."
Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact PC Francis at the Western Specialist Investigation unit on 0845 458 0000 or alternatively to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
