STARS of the football field and TV screens will come together for a charity match at Warrington Town on Sunday.

Former Everton and England midfielder Peter Reid will line up alongside other favourites such as ex Manchester United man Mickey Thomas and Ronnie Wallwork against Emmerdale stars including Warrington’s Luke Roskell.

The game is being played for the Kay Carter Cup - in memory of Kay who died from cancer with proceeds from the afternoon being split between St Roccos and Warrington Town Community development programme.

The 16-year-old Luke, who has been in the soap for nearly two years as a member of the rowdy; Spencer family, confesses to be an Everton fanatic and is looking forward to taking on his home town club.

He said: "It would be great to say I have played against Warrington Town and say I'd won.”

Other characters from the show who could appear are Sean Spencer, Ally Spencer, Sam Dingle, Ruby Haswell, Dan Spencer, Alex Moss and Vanessa Woodfield.

While Sky Sports boxing champion Rocky Fielding will also be taking to the field at the Cantilever Park Stadium.

The game kicks off at 3pm and tickets are £5 and can be bought in advance or at the turnstile.

As well as the action on the pitch, there will be a family fun day off it with a full size Stobart truck from the TV series plus the team from the police community team, bouncy castles, children’s football tournament on the 3G pitch. Hot and cold food is available and the bar will be open all day.
