TEN high schools have been invited to take part in the Leigh Games. They are:
- Atherton Community School, Bolton Road, Atherton
- Bedford High School, Manchester Road, Leigh
- Byrchall High School, Warrington Road, Ashton in Makerfield
- Cansfield, Old Road, Ashton in Makerfield
- Fred Longworth, Printshop Lane, Tyldesley
- Golborne High School, Lowton Road, Golborne
- Lowton CE High School, Newton Road, Lowton
- St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School, Rookery Avenue, Ashton in Makerfield
- St Mary’s Catholic High School, Manchester Road, Astley, Westleigh, Westleigh Lane, Leigh
The Leigh Games is aimed at pupils in year seven upwards from 10 high schools across the area and will start in the afternoon and run into the evening, when family members will be able to attend.
There are also plans in the pipeline for a separate event for primary schoolchildren.
