TO MARK the beginning of their fifth decade The Alarm are asking fans to "dress for the occasion" in a special Brexit themed show.

In one of the band's only five UK gigs in 2020, The Gathering returns for its 28th year in Venue Cymru for another three day sell out show from Friday, January 31.

To top what Mike and Jules Peters called the "best ever" event in 2019 - which saw some fans from the US even battle the polar vortex to get to Llandudno - The Alarm will add a “daring, immersive, theatrical rock music concert" to their impressively large retinue.

Mike said: “Following on from the excitement of 2019, 2020 promises to be an incredible year.

The Gathering 2020 will be our chance to light a new fire for our music and see where this incredible journey is going to take us at the dawn of a new decade. Bring it on.”

As part of the incredible journey, the band - which also features Steve 'Smiley' Barnard, George Williams and James Stevenson – are inviting male and female fans to dress in a white or black outfit of their choosing for what promises to be a unique twist to the previous 27 events.

The band's show will incorporate well loved Alarm anthems including Eye of the Hurricane and Change set against the backdrop of Britain leaving the EU, while Mike's long time friend and Denbigh actor Sean Jones narrates the storyline of Stream [Hurricane of Change].

Joining them is original Alarm founding member Dave Sharp as well TV radio personality and host of the band's Sigma album tour host Gareth ‘Gaz Top’ Jones.

Among the other highlights are a Saturday morning convention with a 'Secret Cinema' style presentation of a never before seen film, an request driven Act Three: Electric Folklore electro acoustic set on Friday and the returning Alarm Mastermind quiz for fans.

To mark the beginning 2020, Mike will give a keynote address called A New Decade that reveal the mystery of a Save The Date event on June 5 - which first appeared on the band's website three and a half years ago, while on Saturday evening the band members will hit up the dancefloor in a 21st Century Nightclub for a late night after party.

To cap off the weekend on Sunday, Mike and Jules' charity Love Hope strength will be in focus with the launches of the Snowdonia Rocks Weekender 2020, a presentation on the upcoming Sahara Rocks 2020 and Walkathon to Llandudno pier and back led by Mike and Jules with an outdoor acoustic set.
