Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

A bona fide rock and roll legend, Noel Gallagher is probably the biggest act to play in Warrington since the Stone Roses staged their comeback gig at the Parr Hall in 2012.

Noel and his birds will play a mix of his solo material and classic Oasis numbers.

Is it too much to hope for a reunion with brother Liam and the old gang on Sunday night?

Yes, probably.

Don’t be surprised if Noel has a tongue-in-cheek dig at our town either - he’s got form for doing this a lot during his recent gigs.

The Courteeners are one of the biggest indie bands in Britain and their devoted following will no doubt be out in force for Saturday night’s headliners, bringing a sea of smoke bombs and flares with them.

Expect the Mancunians’ anthemic choruses to be belted back at them with gusto by an army of fans.

Liam Fray and the gang are making their return to Warrington, having last played in town at the Viola Beach tribute gig two years ago.

Miles Kane

The best mate of Arctic Monkeys singer Alex Turner, Miles might be best known for his Last Shadow Puppets collaborations with his pal but his solo efforts are no less impressive.

Anyone present at his Parr Hall gig four years ago will be able to recognise that.

Miles’ new album - his third as a solo artist - Coup de Grace is expected to drop this summer.

Can it really be 13 years since Editors’ Mercury Prize-nominated debut album churned out hits like Munich and Blood?

The five piece have since found success with number including Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors and are visiting Warrington fresh off the back of their sixth LP Violence releasing in March.

Making number six in the UK album charts with their latest release, Editors are as popular as ever and they will pose a real dilemma for festivalgoers - whether to catch their Second Stage-headlining set or head to the Main Stage for Blossoms - one of the hottest indie prospects in the industry after the release of their second album earlier this year - and the master himself, Mr Gallagher.
