HE may be big headed but don't hold that against Frank Sidebottom. The papier-mch headed one is back on the road after a notable absence from the comedy scene and will be appearing at the St Helens Theatre Royal this August.

He may have been out of the public eye but he has certainly been busy in that time working for Hot Animation, the company that make Bob The Builder and Pingu.

He has even just completed his own new animated TV show that will be on our screens in the future.

But, of course, he is also well known for his numerous TV shows such as Frank's Fantastic Shed Show and Remote Control as well as featuring on Saturday morning programmes such as What's Up Doc and Motormouth.

Timperley's finest will be singing a collection of his self-penned songs as well as giving his views on how to live your life the Frank way.

The only mystery is whether or not Little Frank will turn up on the night?

Frank Sidebottom will be appearing at the St Helens Theatre Royal on Saturday, August 19.

TAKE your kids on a magical journey on the adventures of Dorothy and co in the musical version of The Wizard of Oz.

The classic tale of the young girl who gets swept away with her dog Toto to a mystery land filled with witches, good and bad, will come to life this month. Follow her search along the Yellow Brick Road as she tries to find her way back home.

The production will feature some of the top names in the local theatre scene including Tony Vitti as the Cowardly Lion and Eric Latimer as the Tinman along with youngsters from the Beverley Norris Edmunds Dolphin Dance Academy in Liverpool, who will be playing the Munchkins.

The Wizard of Oz will run for one day at the St Helens Theatre Royal with two performances at 1.30pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, August 12.
