Charlotte Davies, from LiveBar in the town centre, talks about an exciting time to come

We’ve had another unreal couple of months at LiveBar, with a whole host of emerging and hidden talent playing on our stage.

We’ve had music from all genres, from garage punk to metal, from drum and bass to chilled acoustic sounds - you can’t deny that we provide something for everyone at LiveBar!

We’ve had an amazing response both to our gigs and the venue itself since we opened, and in a climate where more and more live music venues are closing across the country, every person coming through our doors is making the music scene in Warrington even stronger.

As we head through the height of summer and into the autumn we have even more incredible gigs lined up for you; here’s what you can find in the coming weeks....

On Friday, August 23 we have a Manchester legend dropping into LiveBar when Tom Hingley plays a headline show. Formally of the Inspiral Carpets, Hingley plays extensively all over the country, whether that's as a solo performer dipping into his ten album-strong back catalogue, or with his Inspiral Carpets tribute band The Kar-Pets, if you haven't already seen him live yet then now is your chance!

Then on Saturday, August 24 we have new favourites Luna Rosa swinging by on their UK tour - this Corby based quartet have just released their latest single ‘I In The Place Of Pride’ to an astounding response and we can’t wait to host them in Warrington.

The weekend after we have plenty of garage punk to satisfy your cravings if you like noisy, 90s grunge inspired bands.

Head down to LiveBar on Friday, August 30 to catch local lads Hollow Vandals - they supported Spilt at the venue back in June and made a mighty impression on the crowd. We’ve also got Shallow Waters, Muddy Elephant and Acid Bridge supporting, and with tickets at just £4 it’s the perfect opportunity to come and discover some new talent.

On Saturday, August 31, we have cult favourites Chupa Cabra lined up, with Manchester avant garde quintet ALAN opening up the night. Fans of Cabbage, The Blinders or Snapped Ankles will love this gig!

As we head through September we have possibly our biggest night to date with The K’s coming to LiveBar for their single launch gig. The Earlestown quartet’s success has reached new heights recently with festival slots all over Europe this summer, so we’re feeling pretty honoured to be able to celebrate their next single launch with them. Support comes from Serratone and The A.V Club - two of Warrington’s finest new acts.

We’re also expecting great things from Manchester act Mealtime when they arrive for a headline show on 20th September.

This band have been making some serious waves in Manchester, and are fresh from playing an incredible set at Bluedot Festival, and with roots in Warrington we’re excited to welcome them back with open arms.

On September 27, we’re also playing host to a stage for this year’s Musicians Against Homelessness event. This nationwide scheme raises vital funds for homelessness services and we’re delighted to be a part of it this year.

I can’t end this month’s feature without mentioning some of the breathtaking talent we’ve discovered through our weekly Live&Loud event - special mentions to Nineties, Seagoth, Hyena and Edits, who we can’t wait to bring back to LiveBar soon.

We hope to see you at the venue over the next month - come down and support some brand new music and maybe even discover your new favourite band! As always, if you’re interested in playing at LiveBar, email us at bookings@livebars.co.uk
