POP star in the making Kerry Feeney is celebrating after the launch of her first single.

The former Cardinal Newman High School student has released Baby Girl Know It after being supported with airplay by BBC Radio Merseyside.

Kerry, who grew up in Orford, already has big plans for 2019 with her second single set to come out in May followed by an album in the summer.

The 22-year-old is also working on a music video to support the release of self-penned and self-produced, Baby Girl Know It.

She said: “I’m very proud of this song. I am so grateful for all the support I have received already and I am very excited to share more of my music.

“I wanted to hear more songs about people knowing their worth and feeling good in their own bodies just as they are, so that’s what inspired this track.”

Kerry started singing when she was just two and after Priestley College she studied for a degree in music theatre at the University of Central Lancashire.

She added: “I knew I was always going to be a singer who wrote her own songs, but it took me a long time to discover the right path into music for me.

“When I heard my song played for the first time on BBC radio I felt proud and I felt like this must be God’s plan because everything seems to be just falling into place.”
