IF you are after the ultimate romantic getaway that is just around the corner, how about the luxury lodgings where numerous people have popped the question?

Cheshire Boutique Barns (07922 277292, cheshireboutiquebarns.co.uk), near Wrenbury, has provided the setting for more than 50 marriage proposals and it is currently offering a special package for Valentine’s Day.

Guests will receive a free ‘Champagne VIP arrival package’, usually costing £60, as part of the deal, arriving to find their luxury barn lit by lamps and candles with a fire burning in the hearth and a bottle of champagne on ice.

Each of the four barn conversions is individually styled, with indoor or outdoor real fires, and mezzanine bedrooms featuring White Company bedding and toiletries. Stays including February 14 cost between £245 and £345 for one night or between £338 and £448 for two nights, depending on choice of barn. Other bookable treats include the £75 ‘Fireside stargazer package’ where couples can gaze at the stars on outdoor loungers.

Warrington Guardian:

You do not need to worry about getting cold because the loungers will be dressed in vintage wool blankets and eiderdowns, stowed with hot water bottles, and set by an outdoor firepit.

There will also be candles and lanterns all around, a bottle of champagne on ice, plus marshmallows for toasting.

The barns are in the grounds of a country mansion, just down the road from scenic walks along the towpath of the Shropshire Union Canal, and close to the Cholmondeley Arms, a gastro-pub set in a converted Victorian school, with a gin bar stocked with more than 300 varieties.

The special offer at Cheshire Boutique Barns is one of a number of deals in the area for Valentine’s Day and the Valentine’s weekend compiled by Visit Cheshire, the agency that champions tourism and leisure activities. Below are some of the other offers available for couples.
