A PERFORMANCE group is on the lookout for new members to add to its creative family.

Padgate resident Mike Perks teamed up with two friends, Claire Williams and John Donaldson, who he met while performing and writing plays, to set up Soup Productions in 2017.

Since then Soup’s aim has been to encourage emerging new talent by specialising in all types of different art forms.

Mike, who is also a member of the Warrington-based popular stage groups Centenary and Encore, said: “Whether you are an actor, singer, filmmaker or anything in between Soup welcomes creatives from the community with open arms.”

Soup’s biggest milestone was selling out a three-night run at The Brindley in Runcorn for its original comedy murder mystery, Murder at Cadberry Manor, in October.

The team are now working on a production with a very different tone.

Mike said: “Soup has achieved a lot of success in its two year stint already including performing to full audiences and increasing its membership.

“But there is no rest for the wicked as Soup has just announced its upcoming projects for 2019, including an all new adaption of the classic tale, Dracula, called The Dawn of Dracula at The Brindley in November.”

Those interested in getting involved must simply be ‘passionate and committed to the arts’ and be over 16.

Mike added: “Soup wants to build on its reputation of creating new drama, supporting new talent and embracing a positive and exuberant art scene.”
