THE historic Warrington Male Voice Choir’s Christmas concert is close to a sell-out with around 50 tickets remaining.

Each year just before Christmas, the choir – one of the oldest in the UK – holds one of its biggest hometown shows at the Parr Hall.

The concert, Christmas Voices Christmas Brass, also featuring the Leyland Band, will be at the Palmyra Square venue on Saturday.

Bob Williams, spokesman for Warrington Male Voice Choir, said: “There were Christmas jumpers and smiles on view during Warrington Male Voice Choir’s rehearsal, ahead of this year’s Christmas concert.

“The jumpers were worn in support of Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day 2018. And the smiles were a reaction to the news that this year’s Christmas Voices Christmas Brass concert is very close to a sell-out, with just over 50 tickets (excluding bench seats) now on sale.

“With the concert almost a sell-out, the choir are advising those supporters who usually buy their tickets on the door, not to leave it until then, as they could be disappointed.”

The concert begins at 7.30pm and also features a Christmas carol singalong with the audience encouraged to dress for Christmas.

The remaining tickets at £10 (£5 for under 16s) can be bought by ringing the Parr Hall box office on 442345 or visiting pyramidparrhall.com.

Fundraising on the night will be in aid of Room at the Inn – The Y Project charity.
