ONE of the north west’s most hotly-tipped bands is to play an intimate show in Warrington.

The Tea Street Band, who can count Manchester music icon Clint Boon among their biggest fans, will perform at The Auction Rooms in Legh Street on March 15. The gig has been organised by Warrington Music [WAM], a website and live performance platform for the town’s artists.

The Tea Street Band’s concert is the follow-up to [WAM]’s biggest show at the Parr Hall, headlined by Burtonwood band Slydigs earlier this year, and is part of ‘special’ wider plans that have yet to be announced.

Lee Harman, who runs [WAM], said: “The Parr Hall show was a huge success. Not only did we manage to sell out the venue, but we were able to bring a huge production to what effectively was a grassroots show.

“The whole gig was filmed live which I’m especially proud of. Not only did we have a full room, we had more than 50,000 views online during the show.

“As we go into 2019, I am always looking at new ways of doing things and The Tea Street Band show will be part of something special for Warrington and to give the live music scene the support it truly deserves.”

The Tea Street Band have spent the past few years touring with Inspiral Carpets, playing shows with The Charlatans and gracing festival stages at the likes of V, Leeds and Reading, Latitude, Festival Number 6, Kendal Calling and even Sundance Film Festival Utah. The Liverpool four-piece are set to release their second album, Frequency, on November 9 through Modern Sky (The Blinders, The Slow Readers Club) and their tour next month will see them play to almost 800 people at Baltic Triangle’s venue District.

Lee, a former Woolston High student, added: “It is fantastic to bring this band to Warrington.

“They’ve got a passionate fanbase and are going to put on an incredible show. They are due to play to almost 800 people in Liverpool next month, so this is your chance to see them play a much more intimate show.

“It has been an exciting year for [WAM] but 2019 looks like it may be even better as we are currently working on a new magazine and a number of events. Keep your eyes peeled to our site.”
