SOFT Cell’s final show in London this Sunday has sold out.

But if you are a fan of the synth pop pioneers fear not because the gig, celebrating the duo’s 40th anniversary, will be screened at the Odeon in Westbrook on Sunday from 7.30pm.

Held at London’s O2 Arena, it is billed as Soft Cell’s last show as well as Marc Almond and David Ball’s first together in 15 years.

Director Tim Sidwell, who has previously worked with the likes of Bring Me The Horizon and Marillion, will take the helm for the live feed.

Soft Cell produced five albums book-ended by their debut, 1981’s Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret, and 2002’s Cruelty Without Beauty. They have also had 10 top 40 singles including the global chart-topper Tainted Love which was a cover of Gloria Jones’ Northern Soul classic of the same name.

The intervening years have seen both Marc Almond and Dave Ball’s talent recognised with successful solo careers in their own right. Marc was awarded an Ivor Novello Inspiration Award in 2013, as well as an OBE this year in the New Year’s Honours List.

Dave went on to form The Grid as well as working as a producer and writer for the likes of Kylie Minogue and remixer for David Bowie, Pet Shop Boys and Erasure.
