A POWERHOUSE performance.

It is the only way to describe the latest production by CODYS, Warrington’s brilliant youth musical theatre group.

These wonderfully talented young people – aged 11 to 18 – delighted enthusiastic audiences last week at Runcorn’s Brindley theatre with their latest show, High School Musical.

CODYS are still hitting the high notes 21 years after the group began and this production was no exception. These youngsters were unfazed by the challenge of taking on such a revered modern classic. As you may recall, 10 years ago the world was crazy about Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens as Troy and Gabriella in Disney’s movie.

CODYS stormed their way through such hits as What I’ve Been Looking For, Get Your Head In The Game and Start of Something New.

A stroke of genius was the singalong medley at the end where the audience was able to join in.

It’s hard to name everybody in an ensemble piece like this, but praise must go to Ed Parry and Holly Hunter who were excellent as Troy and Gabriella, and Megan Holland and Danny Moores as overbearing Sharpay and her weak-willed twin Ryan.

Another winner from inspirational producer Nick Cupit and his crack team of creatives.
