AN inspirational show about the experiences of a record-breaking endurance athlete is coming to Warrington.

Nick Butter is best known for his global expedition Running the World 196, a challenge to become the first person to run a marathon in every country in the world.

Beginning his adventure in January 2018, Nick has travelled the length and breadth of the world, running marathons, setting records and collecting wild stories to tell.

Tales of muggings, war zones, dog attacks and extreme exhaustion all feature in Nick’s talk, in addition to accounts of the sheer scale and diversity of our planet.

The ultra-runner, writer and speaker first discovered a passion for sport as a small, shy boy in the south of England. He later went on to have a successful career in banking, to then becoming one of the most widely-travelled athletes in the world – all before the age of 30.

Nick said: “If I’m lucky enough to get to the point in life when I’m old and grey, chatting with my grandchildren, I want to know I’ve explored every inch of the planet.

“I believe that it’s the crazy things, the things that no one is doing and the things that we’re afraid to do which are, in fact, exactly that which leaves a positive mark in the world.”

Nick Butter brings his story, accompanied by photography and videography, to the Pyramid centre on April 18. Visit parrhall.culturewarrington.org or call 442345.
