AN award-winning trio are bringing a pop-up art gallery to the town’s Golden Square Shopping Centre.

Technically Brilliant Art will launch next Thursday, November 21 in a unit next to Primark and run until Friday, December 27.

Jo Smith, Matt George and Kathryn Seth-Smith, co-founders of the community interest group, are coming to Warrington after curating art exhibitions in Altrincham and winning Arts Centre of the Year at the 2019 Manchester Prestige Awards.

Kathryn, who worked in the food industry in nutrition before reinventing herself as a ceramicist, said: “We believe in the power of art in building communities.

“Warrington already has a vibrant art community and Technically Brilliant Art will be a catalyst for more opportunities by giving established and emerging artists an avenue to the public and the public more access to art.

“Our aim is to create an environment where anyone would feel comfortable visiting the gallery whether they are art aficionados or not.

“We are delighted with the welcome we have received from the artistic community here in Warrington.

“We are also excited following the huge response we had to our artist call for submissions to what we expect will be the first of many brilliant art exhibitions.

“We are very grateful to the council and Warrington businesses for their encouragement and help in making this exhibition happen.

The trio also plan to use the pop-up space for workshops and events, short term displays by international artists and a gift shop.

Kathryn added: “Our mission is to support the many artists in Warrington and beyond, bring art into people’s lives in unexpected ways and create community involvement in the arts.”
