BIFFY Clyro have revealed details for their first acoustic tour.

The Scottish alternative rockers, best known for their explosive live shows, will be stripping it all back for MTV Unplugged.

That includes a Manchester date at the Opera House on September 22.

It follows Biffy’s one-off ‘Live At Roundhouse London’ show in November which was recorded to relaunch the iconic MTV Unplugged series.

The band follow in the footsteps of of the likes of Nirvana, Oasis, Pearl Jam and R.E.M.

Before the September tour, MTV will premiere the Roundhouse performance on May 25 on its TV channel and MTV Music.

An MTV Unplugged album is also set to be released and those who pre-order the record will be sent a pre-sale code for the acoustic tour.

As well as Biffy’s slower songs like Many of Horror, Re-arrange and Medicine, the track list includes stripped back versions of some of their bigger songs like The Captain, Black Chandelier and Bubbles.

They also cover Beach Boys’ classic, God Only Knows, and unveil the new song, Different Kind of Love for the session.

Simon Neil formed Biffy Clyro when he was just a teen in Kilmarnock with twin brothers James and Ben Johnston.

The trio, named NME’s best British band in 2013, have released seven albums, including three number one records, Puzzle, Opposites and Ellipsis.

Their singles have also topped the Scottish charts four times and the UK rock charts five times.
