PARKERS Property Consultants & Valuers are showing support for the local arts scene by displaying works by amateur artists in their office in South Street in Bridport.
The estate agency, based in Bucky Doo Square, has linked up with the Bridport Art Society, which has been in existence since 1956, originally starting out as the Allington Art Club.
The friendly group welcomes artists of all levels and experience, and stages public exhibitions throughout the year.
Clive Baynes, chairman of the Bridport Art Society, said: “We are very pleased that Parkers have given us the opportunity to display members’ work throughout the year.
“This gives us an ongoing presence in the town over and above our three regular exhibitions.
“The display is being co-ordinated by Julia Baynes on behalf of the society and will be changed every two or three months. The theme for the first display is ‘Scenes Around Bridport’.”
Parkers company director Mark Parker added: “There are some fantastic artists in the area and it is a pleasure to display their work in our office.
“The arts scene is a huge part of Bridport and we want to do all we can to show our support and keep it growing.”
Parkers are also sponsoring the showing of ‘The Theory of Everything’ at the The Electric Palace this coming Saturday (7.30pm) as part of Bridport’s Film Festival.
