Grade 2 Listed Church and campanile for re-development with an attached presbytery that is not listed.

The former St Pius Church and Presbytery has returned to the market for re-development with Grade 2 listing on the Church and the campanile.

The property is located fronting Birchfield Road and has access onto Sefton Avenue, it is in a residential area close to local facilities, such as a Co-Operative, Public House and Pharmacy.

The church was built in 1959 as an offshoot of St Bede's Church in Widnes. St Pius X Former Church is a remarkable building, designed by Felix A. Jones of Jones and Kelly of Dublin.

The body of the church is built of yellow brick, and is rectangular on plan, with the buttresses that punctuate the walls curve inwards, whilst the pitched roof sweeps down in a gentle curve to the eaves. The side windows form triangles with sides that curve inwards in a continuous radius to join at the top. The doorway below has a flattened concrete pediment, patterned glass leaded lights, and a bright blue mosaic threshold.
