ELLEN AGNES PLANT (Nee YATES) Ellen sadly passed away on the 12th January 2021 after a short illness. Formerly of Alderley Road, Thelwall, Ellen spent the last three years in the Old Rectory Nursing Home, Grappenhall. Born in Warrington in 1934, Ellen trained at Wood's College of Commerce to become a Shorthand Typist. In her time, she worked for several companies including Gartons Seeds, British Aluminium and Richmond's Gas Stove Company Ltd, before becoming a secretary and shareholder of her husband's Company. Later, she went on to work for John Fairhurst & Co and then Mitchell Charlesworth in Latchford. Ellen (widowed in 1988) was a great cook, an avid reader, and took up golf and bowls in her later years. She was also a member of the Warrington Operatic Society for a short time; she had a wonderful voice. In her spare time she liked to read and write poetry. Ellen leaves behind two daughters, three grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; also family members' partners. Ellen was thoroughly and deservedly loved and adored by all her family. Her wisdom, intelligence and sharp wit will be sorely missed. Ellen's funeral service is to take place on Friday 29th January 2021, Walton Lea Crematorium at 14.20. Ellen's Family request no flowers.
