GEORGE PATRICK HAYWOOD Peacefully passed away on Friday 22nd May 2020 at Callands Care Home. A much loved husband to Chris, father to Ian and Andrea, Grandfather to Grace, Carrie and Kate, bother in law to Ken & Maureen Park. George is survived by his sister Kathleen Williams. He will be greatly missed by all his nephews and nieces, extended family and friends. George was born in 1936 and lived all his life in Penketh. He worked for Warrington Borough Council and formerly Rubery Owens. An active member of Penketh and Warrington sport and leisure by his association to youth and community. Chairman of Warrington & District Football league, affiliated member of Liverpool FA, a Penketh Parish councillor & Chairman, a founder of Penketh Swimming club and Chairman, Penketh Youth and Community , Penketh Carnival Committee, Chairman and lifelong president of Eagle sports FC to name but a few A family service will take place at Walton Lea Crematorium on Monday 8th June 2020 at 11:40. He will be leaving Windmill Lane Penketh, via Penketh parish swimming pool, for those who wish to pay respects (social distancing). Family flowers and associated organisations only. Any donations will be gratefully received for an appropriate community memorial.

Sorry to hear about George's passing away.
George was a mentor to me some 60 years ago. Which I greatly appreciated.

Played rugby at Eagle when George was involved with the round ball. Changing rooms were sometimes a point of discussion as you might expect. We always found a friendly solution just!
