Reward for return of bike
4:55pm Wednesday 29th August 2012 in Letters
MY bike was stolen from outside the Lower Angel on Thursday August 16, between 10pm and 11pm.
The bike lock had been cut off from the steel bars. This thief will probably sell it for a few pounds for a fix.
My bike is a Trek Hybrid, red with SPD pedals and marathon tyres.
Anyone with information leading to me finding it will get a £100 reward.
I have asked about CCTV but the police say the cameras were pointing the wrong way.
I think security should be better in this area.

Anyway riding a bike or driving after a drink impairs your reflexes so whether you think its an offence or not, silverbadger, its stoopid. And it's a pretty safe bet if your in the Lower Angel longer than an hour at that time of night your over the limit.
If he had ridden home and fell in front of your car or anyone's for that matter after even 1 pint I'm sure your verbal manure would be less lenient towards a bloke having "just the one".

I just means that he suspects you may be drunk (unless you are obviously legless and reeking of alcohol). It is the results of the breath/urine/blood tests that says if or not you are drunk. Without those a cop's allegations that you are drunk hold no weight in law.
It doesn't matter how much you drink as in the eyes of the law if a cop says your drunk, you are.
