Moved to tears by care from hospital staff

I AM a 77-year-old man, and I recently spent three weeks in Warrington General for a knee replacement.

There is so much publicity about how particularly older people are mistreated, or neglected in hospitals that I would like to redress the balance, by writing a few words of praise about my time there.

The wards were spotless, the medical treatment was second to none – but what I really want to praise, was the attitude of the staff. They were so pleasant, friendly and caring.

After my operation, I was concerned that I would not be able to walk my daughter down the aisle this month, but the nurses reassured me that I would, and it was at that point that I was so moved by their compassion, I broke down in tears.

I could never find enough words of praise, so – thank you, to the all the staff at Warrington Hospital.
