No confidence in Royal Mail

THE saga surrounding Royal Mail’s service continues and another issue is raised in Gary Bebbington’s letter of July 26.

Around the time Mr Bebbington sent his letter to Liverpool, I posted one to Leeds. Although I paid for first class delivery it took eight days to arrive. More recently I sent two cup-final tickets to an address in the West Midlands. I wanted to ensure that they arrived safely and promptly so used Royal Mail’s special, next day delivery service. Royal Mail delivered the tickets safely but not within its ‘guaranteed’ time limit, instead taking over two days.

No doubt the letters of complaint published in your column are just the tip of the iceberg. I am surprised that Royal Mail has failed to provide any explanation. I assume this is because they cannot defend the indefensible.

I propose a vote of no confidence in the service that Royal Mail provides to the Warrington community.
