What’s become of Wally Barnes?

IS Wally Barnes, the Warrington author, still alive? As a child I had all of his ghost books and still have some of them on my book shelf today.

I had the pleasure of meeting him when he came to my school, Sir Thomas Boteler. We had lunch together while he told his yarns of haunted Warrington. Some of the characters he wrote about were real people who he knew from his own childhood in the town.

I hope Wally has not joined the ghostly legions but if he has I am sure he will make a great addition to the legends of old Warrington.
