Scalding hot showers at park

MILLIONS have been invested into a new Orford Jubilee Park, but someone, either architects or construction workers, forgot to install the cold water taps in the showers.

The sport centre operators feel safe from any possible claims by putting up notice boards warning visitors to be aware of the very hot water. After several hours of active sport how is it possible to stand under the steaming hot water?

There is only one thing you wish to do – stand under the cold water instead. Today I saw a young girl spring screaming from under the shower. There is nowhere else to have a normal shower to cool the body. I suppose that the sauna is cooler than the showers.

I wonder how the authorities even confirmed such a project without water tap regulators. Maybe constructors were hurrying to finish their job before the Queen’s visit and forgot to install cold water taps?

It is bizarre that even after complaints to the reception, nothing has changed. If this problem is not resolved, one day we will hear that someone has been badly scalded.

Cost of fixing....say £10,000

Likelihood of a claim 2 per annum
Probable cost of settlemnt £1000 per claim.

Stuff it, we'll take our chances. Thats what we are up against. The company who built the project and the people who commissioned it will be sat in little room arguing over whether somebody did or didnt put a "c" AND a "h" next to the taps on the plans. They will argue until such time as the contractor wants their final money for the job (easily 12-18 months down the line) and THEN something will be down.

Probably just a simple adjustment needed to a thermostat somewhere or making sure it is positioned correctly. Had the same problem with our hot water and only took 5 mins to sort and fix.
