A56 in Lymm has to be the worst road

I AM surprised that the council feels it necessary to resurface a considerable number of streets in ‘the cultural quarter’ when they are in relatively good condition.

It really is time that something was done to sort out the A56 through Lymm which has been dug up during the past four or five years by every statutory undertake that there is – twice by some!

The condition of the road is such that when I need to take a taxi home from Manchester Airport I always receive the comment that the journey is along that dreadful road.

Since its condition appears to be universally known to all the cab drivers at the airport, I have the impression that before long they will be embargoing journeys to Lymm for fear of the damage potentially to be suffered by their vehicles.

I thought something was being done last year but the works terminated when approximately one quarter of the evil stretch had been remedied and even then I note that fresh holes are being dug on this stretch.

Perhaps we could have a contest to nominate the worst roads in Warrington divided into categories according to the roads classification?

I feel certain that this would be the winner of the A road category by a wide margin.

I have also reported this road to warrington council numerous times throughout the year, it is a distraction trying to avoid the pot holes and also i dont want to even think about the damage it will be causing to suspension and tyers over time.

Try cycling along it! a pothole to a car is damaged suspension or wrecked tyres.
a pothole to a cyclist can throw them from the bike into the path of moving traffic.
there are many roads in warrington in serious need of repair and this is well up there on the list.
