Traffic lights turn shopping into nightmare

ON Saturday I decided to make a trip to Alban Retail Park to visit Hobby Craft.

I have not been to the retail park since the new traffic lights were put up at the junction with Hawley’s Lane.

On entering the car park I noticed straight away that the traffic coming off the park was queuing back to Mothercare but you cannot see the problem until you are on the car park itself so it is too late to change your mind.

The obvious cause of this is the new traffic lights and that you can only turn left coming off the car park. Surely this must have been considered when the new road structure was put in place?

Understandably people were getting frustrated as cars were blocking access just so they could get in the queue to get off and it took me 40 minutes to get to the Winwick Road traffic lights.

Something must be done about this otherwise people will stop shopping there, I know I won’t be returning until this situation is resolved.

There is a stupid filter left which only allows movement when all lights are green. It is not a filter but it backs up other traffic going straight on. Needs a member of the public to sort this out, NOT A CONSULTANT.
