More about the election results and about Billy Lines Roland but at least he's making a good start and showing that he gets around to say thank you. I spoken to him twice since he was elected and he's happy to help. Leave the lad alone and let him say thanks online, if anyone has any problems do what I did-email the councillors instead of cyberstalking them.
He's not really said anything on-line - this letter is merely a re-publication from the printed paper. The only true on-line communication is from Geoff Settle, who appears to be his local party boss.
Are there any Lib Dem or Tory councillors doing anything in Poulton North? Sorry to sound thick but I only really know about the Labour ones, mainly because I see them in the Guardian or in party newsletters. I've raised a few things to Geoff and they have been dealt with. I don't care if he is acting as a boss, I want to see someone actually do something about my issues! The only thing I know about the Lib Dems was a something about a topless picture on Facebook a few years ago. Resident :-)
Not topless - the nature of the picture was exaggerated, by some to the level of libel. Not sure if Ayatollah Settle truly believed that female councillors should adopt full islamic garb or he was just trying to exploit someone's private life for cheap propoganda.
Maybe so but why was it on Facebook in the first place? Not very professional!! What would happen if it happened to an MP? I'm sure she lost her seat, though no doubt you'll correct me if I'm wrong. Are you a Lib Dem by any chance? Please could you distribute a newsletter in my area so I can see what you are actively doing in my community? Oh and also who you are! Nobody answered my question about the Lib Dem or Tory councillors in my area.
    1) It was a photo at a party - one that was not how it was represented by Settle and others.

    2) I'm Not a Lib-Dem

3)Of course I'm not going to tell you my name, don't be daft, - are you going to say who you are?

    Thought not . :-)

IF your area is Poulton North or Soiuth then, as I understand it, all the borough councillors in the area, and all but a few parish councillors are Labour - not that that will prevent them denying responsibility."

An honour to be elected

TO all those residents of Poulton North, it has been an exciting few months on the campaign trail and I’d like to thank everyone who supported me.

It’s a huge honour to have been elected as your councillor and I am determined to stand for everyone in Poulton North, regardless of who they voted for.

I already have plenty of casework I have picked up on the campaign trail and there are a few big projects being worked on to make our community better. But as always if you have any issues or concerns pick up the phone or send me an e-mail.

Our community faces real challenges from cuts to the police and family tax credits, to creating more affordable housing and dealing with unemployment.

These challenges aren’t made any easier by the Tory-Lib Dem Government’s cuts to council funding.

As promised, I will put my five-point plan into action immediately while tackling the issues I picked up along my campaign leading up to the elections.

Yes there was a national shift towards Labour in the local elections but here in Poulton North our victory was based on local issues and how we as your Labour team have, and will continue, to work hard for you to get things done.

I will fight to get the best deal for our community and I will be your voice in these tough times. It’s a big challenge but one that I’m looking forward to tackling as your councillor.
