Oh dear the opening of the letter was so positive before it degenerating into Labour nonsense.


As you seem so keen to bring party politics into it, Billy, you should accept that the cuts are largley the result of financial mismanagement by your Mr Brown and his mob.


Your victory was due to your party twisting the facts about NATIONAL issues. The leaflets produced on your behalf (I am prepared to believe you were largely lead by the nose and do not fully blame you) almost without exception failed to address local issues.


I wish you well - but please don't let yourself be a mouthpiece for messrs Settle, Vobe and O'Neill. (if only because it will be less embarassing when your party tries snuggling up to the lib-dems come the next general election).

Also it might be nice to have the occassional leaflet inbetween elections - unlike your labour colleagues on the ward.

It’s a pity that you try and FOCUS on material that didn’t win over voters to your LibDem cause. Maybe you should reconsider your tactics and like the Poulton Labour Team be seen to be out and about on the doorstep and on the street talking to people about their issues.
Just Alan, Nick or whatever your name is these days might have picked up more votes if you had taken that approach.

Talking of issues, I see that the Labour run Poulton with Fearnhead Parish Council have taken a position against the Woolston Free School plans but no individual members have been named. Surprising as you will nomally do anything to get your name in the paper, even bathing in others reflected glory. So do you dare say where you yourself stand (if Mr Vobe will let you)? I assume you, like your labour colleagues, are against the whole idea of the school.

I live in the ward and recieved a newsletter off Billy the other day ...

once again whoever gets in is more interested in backbiting than getting on with the job in hand, it would be great if somebody got there finger out and dealt with the issues in hand i have a few but as usual at election time nobody knocks on our doors if geoff settle has got nothing better to do than put sarky comments on here perhaps he should give up

More about the election results and about Billy Lines Roland but at least he's making a good start and showing that he gets around to say thank you. I spoken to him twice since he was elected and he's happy to help. Are there any Lib Dem or Tory councillors doing anything in Poulton North? Sorry to sound thick but I only really know about the Labour ones, mainly because I see them in the Guardian or in party newsletters. I've raised a few things to Geoff and they have been dealt with. I don't care if he is acting as a boss, I want to see someone actually do something about my issues! The only thing I know about the Lib Dems was a something about a topless picture on Facebook a few years ago.

Not sure if Ayatollah Settle truly believed that female councillors should adopt full islamic garb or he was just trying to exploit someone's private life for cheap propoganda.

Maybe so but why was it on Facebook in the first place? Not very professional!! What would happen if it happened to an MP? I'm sure she lost her seat, though no doubt you'll correct me if I'm wrong.

IF your area is Poulton North or Soiuth then, as I understand it, all the borough councillors in the area, and all but a few parish councillors are Labour - not that that will prevent them denying responsibility.

Alan B (aka Nick T) you do have some fanciful ideas, you may not be a card carrying member of the LibDems but the same can’t be said about an ex-Cllr that you live with. I wonder if she knows you’re keying such false missives trying to make up for your joint loss.

Geoffrey, you really are a bizarre man. I don't know about this Alan B bloke, but I assure you I do not live with a councillor - ex or otherwise.


You may be confusing me with your national party leadership who will be trying to get into bed with the liberal Democrats at the next general election. There have already been reports of covert overtures.

Are you suggesting that I just leave what one of my constituents is saying about me unanswered or are you suggesting that councillors should not express a view for or against when they have been challenged or are you saying something else?
I think that I am very reserved in my comments, given what Nick has said about me in the past.
However if you have any complaints about my conduct then the council has a Code of Conduct that sets out rules governing the behaviour of its councillors.
I endeavor to always stick to these principles; if I fail then I am more than willing to apologies.

Labour, Lib-Dem or Tory (do we have tory in Poulton North & South?...) All we need is councillors to do a good job and so far so good. Nick Tessla, it's a shame you spend so much time cyberstalking, if you got up and actually did somthing you might make a good councillor yourself someday?... Ever thought about it?

No i am NOT saying to leave them but there is a better way of responding, getting in a tit for tat and responding the way you have is not what i would expect from a councillor! (but there again what else could I expect) I am not after making a complaint (as i know it wouldnt make a blind bit of difference anyway). I have commented on this as I am entitled to my own personal opinion. Wont be responding to anything else you may put Cllr as I for one am not in for tit for tat, if cllrs want to be treated with respect then perhaps they should look at the reasons they are not.

Do you claim expenses for every comment you put on here? Do you speak for every newly elected councillor on your ward? as the letter was NOT written by you but you seemed to have hijacked this thread to take part in a tit for tat argument with someone who has made a comment to the orginal letter. Fair comment Maestro but I have only been responding to posts were my name has been mentioned.
As for Billy he is his own man and I'm sure that if he wanted to join in he would.
He has his own way of doing things and in no way am I going to speak on his behalf.
People have spoken very highly of his letter which has gone down well with local people.
Perhaps that is the reason he does not need to add anything, he has said all that he wants to at this moment in time. He's busy getting on delivering his 5-point plan and people can look forward to seeing it devlivered.

But councillors Vobe and O'Neill didn't feel the need to jump on the thread

Ce la vie, few councillors do converse in name on this site and that is their right. I like to dip in from time to time when the queue is given.
