Attitude of sorting office staff over ID

FOLLOWING on from previous letters regarding Milner Street sorting office, I would like to share my experience with readers.

Having received the dreaded red card, I visited the office on a Saturday morning. The conversation went as follows;

Postman: Have you got any ID?

Me: Handed over my driving licence

PM: But this isn’t your name on the packet.

Me: No sir it’s my daughter’s name.

PM: Has she got ID?

Me: She’s 12.

PM: Has she not got a birth certificate?

(All this time he has my packet in his hand)

Me: Look, it’s pencils for an art project at school, of which I ordered online.

PM: I can’t let you have it without her ID.

All this after waiting 15 mins in queue.

The end of the tale, i have had it redelivered. And i have just signed for it this morning – without my daughter’s ID.

I hope you publish this as there are a few disgruntled people.

yep the same sort of service i have recieved on my many visits to milner street. i know they need to be careful about people collecting parcels that are not theirs but the attitude of a certain canadian employee totally stinks.

you would be upset if you came to collect a package and they'd given it to somebody else with no ID

Surely if their going to ask for i.d at the sorting office then they should be when they deliver the item as well.
