Stolen memorial brings back all the pain
10:08am Friday 1st June 2012 in Letters
ALONG with many others I was shocked at the theft of the River of Life memorial to Johnathan Ball, Tim Parry and those that were hurt when this atrocity was carried out.
It is hard to find words to express our feelings on such an awful act.
It is a time when all the pain and trauma of what happened to the two innocent children, their parents, all those that were hurt, families, friends, and the people of Warrington, comes flooding back just as much as when this deed was first committed.
I have worked in a support group for men and women who as children were abused by the Catholic church and its creature congregations in the industrial schools in Ireland.
I have seen and experienced abuses of all sorts perpetrated on innocent children and what damage it has caused then and the ramifications in later life. But I have to say the damage that these people have done by the desecration of the River of Life memorial is beyond description.
My thoughts and prayers go to the parents, families, friends of the two boys, the people that were hurt and to the people of Warrington.
I would be more than happy to make a donation towards a replacement memorial.
